Trump and putin, President Donald Trump has announced plans to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest within the next two weeks to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

The announcement follows a “productive” phone conversation between the two leaders, during which they agreed to hold a high-level meeting in Hungary.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet Trump at the White House today to discuss military support and advanced weaponry for Ukraine. Zelenskyy is reportedly seeking U.S. Tomahawk missiles, which are capable of striking targets up to 1,500 miles away, including Moscow.

However, Trump has expressed hesitancy about supplying the missiles, citing concerns over depleting U.S. stockpiles and the potential for escalating the conflict.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has confirmed preparations for the summit, emphasizing Hungary’s role as a neutral venue for such high-level talks.

The upcoming meeting follows a previous summit in Alaska in August, which resulted in preliminary agreements, including the idea of an international peacekeeping force, though key issues like control over the Donetsk region remain unresolved.

The planned summit in Budapest marks a significant development in international efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
